The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

  • Ability to run a fork lift, small service truck, scissor lift, and boom lift.
  • Ability to safely use shop equipment and hand tools such as table saw, band saw, grinder/sander.
  • Set-up, adjust, and operate common types of machine shop equipment.
  • Apply shop math, including trigonometry and descriptive geometry.
  • Fabrication and rework of tools to close tolerances.
  • Lays out, fabricates, assembles, and repairs jigs, fixtures, forms, templates, and related tooling used in
    manufacturing aircraft parts and assemblies, following blueprints, sketches, and specifications, using hand
    tools, power tools, machines, and equipment.
  • Repairs or reworks tools.
  • Must interface with equipment operators, work order originators (internal customers) and Maintenance
    Department personnel to complete assignments.
  • Individual must be motivated and productive and be able to function independently on many tasks.
  • Communicate well with others and work well independently.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Five (5) years’ experience in Aerospace related tool fabrication working with metal and composite tools.
  • Two (2) years technical school; a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Set-up, adjust, and operate common types of machine shop equipment.
  • Ability to work with common machine shop equipment and apply practical knowledge of characteristics of
    metals and machine capabilities.
  • Must be able to read and interpret technical specifications, drawings and written documentation.
  • Technical knowledge and ability to ensure compliance with quality control requirements.
  • Ability to apply shop math, including trigonometry and descriptive geometry.
  • Precision layout, fabrication and machining.
  • Computer skills required
  • Understands tool coordination.
  • Be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Assist other employees as directed.
  • Familiarity with resin, fabrics and plaster tooling techniques a plus.
  • Optics/Laser Tracker experience a plus.
  • CAM experience including conversational and/or G and M Code controller inputs a plus
  • Must be aware of Hazardous Waste Disposal methods and requirements and be able to abide by the EHS
    requirements of the facility.
  • Have a history of strong performance: no suspension-level discipline within the last 12 months, proven
    ability to work with minimal supervision, and have a positive attitude about safety.
  • Excellent attendance record; applicant cannot have more than three (3) infractions.
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Outlook email.
  • Strong reading and analytical skills.
