Manufacturing Day is this Friday!

This Friday, October 7th marks Manufacturing Day, with events taking place throughout the week. The rundown:

On Friday, The Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Spokane Valley Tech, INWAC and the Center of Excellence for Aerospace and Advanced Manufacturing, will host a manufacturing tour for local high school students. The tour will visit four local manufacturers and will include lunch and speakers. 

Everett Community College Advanced Manufacturing is hosting an open house on Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visitors will learn about certificates and degrees in high-demand careers with hands-on training in engineering technology, composites, precision machining, mechatronics, welding and fabrication, aviation maintenance technology and advanced avionics. More information and sign up.

Edmonds College is hosting a tour and fair on Wednesday, October 5th, from 4 p.m. Visit and network with local employers, including Crane Aerospace, Royell Manufacturing and ACS Cutting Solutions. Light refreshments will be provided.

At Western Washington University, Polymer Materials Engineering students and faculty will host lab tours Friday for anyone interested in learning more about how students and faculty are working to contribute to a circular economy with sustainable polymers and composites. Tours will include demonstrations of recycling and sustainability research, instruments for measuring properties and polymer and composite manufacturing processes. Learn more.

The Association of Washington Business is hosting its annual cross-state bus tour to raise awareness of the role manufacturing plays in Washington state and support the successful growth of Washington's manufacturing sector. The week will spotlight many of Washington's manufacturers contributing to their communities and the state economy in innovative and impactful ways. Learn more.
