Center of Excellence Welcomes New Advisory Chair Wes Allen

The Center of Excellence is pleased to announce our new Advisory Board Chair, Wes Allen. As a long-time Board member and current Director of the Sno-Isle TECH Skills Center, Wes’s background in education as an instructor and administrator aligns with the Center’s goals to better connect K-12 and community college manufacturing programs to employment.

Wes taught special education and leadership in Washington and Oregon, moving into administration as an Assistant Principal. In his role as a district-level Career and Technical Education (CTE) Director, Wes “realized that CTE is my passion and working at a Skills Center like Sno-Isle TECH was my calling.”

“I’ve gotten to know Wes over my first year here at the Center of Excellence. His insight has helped me understand how our systems work and how they could work better,” said Jason Petrait, Center of Excellence Executive Director. “Wes brings our shared passion to ensuring that young people have opportunities to explore careers and enter into employment that both pays well and is fulfilling. We’re glad to have him lead and advise us.”

Wes takes over from former Advisory Board Chair Diane Dempster. We thank Diane for her leadership and support.
