During the week of June 19-23, 2017 the Center of Excellence for Aerospace & Advanced Manufacturing, along with the Gene Haas Foundation, sponsored a Machining Instructor Training offered by the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS). The community & technical colleges participating this year included: Bates, Bellingham, Spokane, Everett, Lower Columbia and a guest from Broward Schools in Florida.

This 5-day Machining Instructor Training workshop included classroom and hands-on lab time in which participants gained a working knowledge of NIMS credentialing and program accreditation, learned best practices for aligning curriculum with industry recognized NIMS standards and credentials, and earned NIMS Machining Level I credentials.
