Throughout the advanced manufacturing and aerospace industry, companies are being faced with an ever growing worker shortage. According to the Manufacturing Institute, “employers are seeking the best possible talent. They are increasingly relying on credentials as screening tools for the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to do the job. These credentials are industry-recognized that have been approved by business and industry leaders to possess the necessary rigor, technical and academic standards.”

Industry certifications are a means in which employers can ascertain whether or not students have mastered the content within their specific program by actually performing certain skills used on the job.

These certifications “are unique in that they are not tied to a single educational institution; they are not awarded by a school but rather by a third party that maintains the assessments and oversees the administration and use. It takes the guesswork out of the hiring process and provides an objective assessment of the skills needs to do a specific job.” The Manufacturing Institute

The Center of Excellence for Aerospace & Advanced Manufacturing has developed this list as a tool for our educational, community and industry partners to see the third party, nationally recognized industry certifications that are being offered at each of our colleges, focusing on aerospace & advanced manufacturing.

We built as comprehensive list as possible. If you see an update that needs to be made for a specific college, please let us know.
